What is Spinal Decompression?

Spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical treatment designed to relieve pressure on the spinal discs, joints, and nerves. It helps with issues such as bulging and/or herniated discs, it decreases nerve compression, helps reduce pain and inflammation, improves nutrient and fluid exchange to the discs, and helps restore normal spinal mechanics.

During spinal decompression treatment the spine is gradually stretched and relaxed in cycles. This pumping effect helps pull bulging disc material inward and improves circulation around injured tissues.

conditions it can help:

It is most used for disc-related conditions and nerve compression disorders. For example:

herniated discs, bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, radiculopathy, facet syndrome, foraminal stenosis, chronic back/neck pain, arm symptoms (numbness/tingling in arms), disc compression, spinal loading injuries, failed back surgery, and headaches.

Spinal decompression is used alongside chiropractic adjustments, rehabilitation, and soft tissue therapy.

Expected outcomes:

During spinal decompression treatment you will feel gentle stretching of the spine that will reduce pressure in your back or neck. You will start to have gradual relief of symptoms after several treatments. It is normal to experience temporary soreness during early sessions as tissues adapt, but over time we expect to see:

- Reduced disc pressure

- Improved mobility

- Decreased nerve pain

- Reduced need for surgery in some patients

For best results:

Spinal decompression is most effective when combined with chiropractic adjustments, core stabilization exercises, posture rehabilitation, soft tissue therapy, anti-inflammatory nutrition, and lifestyle modifications. These are all things we walk along side you with and guide you through so that we can help you create a life where you feel free to thrive!
