About
Austin Chase, Dc, and Katelynn Chase, MT-BC
When the Chase family visited the island of Sitka in 2024, they knew immediately they wanted to make it their home. Alaska had been a dream for almost a decade and when they experienced Sitka they discovered it had the best of everything they loved about Alaska. They didn't know how or when, but they started setting their sights on ending up here. Transplanting themselves from Tampa, Florida was no small task. Tampa was where they had started their family, bought a home, built a successful chiropractic clinic, and were currently raising their children. They had a good community there but when they came to Sitka as a family, no one wanted to leave. Their children begged them to move and they knew the lifestyle and community in Sitka was the perfect fit for their family.

Dr. Austin was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He earned his Bachelors Degree at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Human Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He then went on to get his Doctorate in Chiropractic at Life University in Georgia, and graduated with the honor of Cum Laude.
Austin led an active lifestyle from a young age. He was very involved in different sports, as well as music and the arts. Sports and singing were the two things he was most passionate about as a youth. When he was a teen, however, he had a wrestling accident that left him with many negative side effects. He had constant migraines that he couldn’t get relief from, blackouts, he was disoriented, had dizzy spells, and his quality of life was greatly compromised. He was told he could no longer play sports, couldn’t work out, and could no longer sing. Nobody could find any answers for his symptoms after MRIs, CT scans, and X-rays. As a last resort, and at the recommendation of a family member, he went to see a chiropractor. After one adjustment he had immediate improvement. After five adjustments he no longer had headaches. With continual care he was able to return to his normal quality of life and return to the activities he loved.
This experience opened a door in Austin's mind. Chiropractic had never been something he knew much about and wouldn’t have considered had a family member not recommended it. It was amazing to him that chiropractic was able to completely restore his quality of life. Rather than becoming dependent on prescriptions to keep his symptoms at bay for years to come, a chiropractor was able to find the root cause of his issues and fix the problem. This eventually became something he wanted to pursue himself so he could share this gift with others.

While in his undergraduate studies at BYU-I, Austin met Katelynn. She was obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Musical Arts, with an emphasis in piano performance. She and Austin met in men's choir where he was singing and she was the accompanist. Thank heavens that chiropractor in his youth helped him return to singing, because otherwise their very different degrees would never have brought them together! While Katelynn was passionate about music and sharing it with others, she knew that ultimately performance wasn't her end goal. Uncertain which direction to take her musical studies, she paused her schooling after graduating with her bachelor's degree, stayed home with their babies, and taught music lessons throughout Austin's graduate schooling in Georgia.

After graduation, they moved to Florida, had their last child, and Austin worked for other chiropractors for a few years before they decided to open their own clinic. Four years after opening their clinic, Katelynn discovered music therapy. After utilizing music to help her process and work through some of the most difficult experiences of her life, she knew she wanted to help others do the same. She went back to school to get her equivalency in Music Therapy. Maintaining her spot on the Dean's List with highest honors while continuing to homeschool their four kids was a feat she could not have accomplished without Austin's unwavering support. Because of their passion for helping others with their health needs, they are both driven to support each other as they continue pursuing further education. Their goal is to continually expand the options and tools they are able to provide so that they can help others thrive in any way they need. Austin received his diplomate in addictionology at the end of 2025 and Katelynn has been accepted to a Masters program where she will be working towards a dual masters in Music Therapy and Counseling. Through the many experiences they've shared, they have both become very passionate about chiropractic, wholistic wellness, and mindful living. They've seen it's benefits in their own lives, the lives of their children, and in the lives of each community member they've been blessed to serve. Living a wellness based lifestyle is something they are passionate about sharing with others because they love to watch those they serve achieve a level of health where they can thrive, rather than be held back by pain and illness.
Dr. Austin has participated in mission trips to Dominican Republic, Haiti, and El Salvador to share this gift abroad and plans to do more of that in the future. He has also participated in many hours of training in various techniques so that he is able to adjust each patient according to their unique needs. He has worked with pediatric, geriatric, both professional and amateur athletes, maternity patients, and everything else in between. They are both excited to share the gift of health with the beautiful community in Sitka.
