Cerebrospinal Fluid and Sleep

Sleep is essential to overall health. Without sleep, our body misses the crucial rest and recovery it needs! If we suffer from repeatedly missing out on sleep, we can see symptoms arise, such as impaired cognitive function. We may be more forgetful, have an inability to focus, and overall not feel our best. Sleep can be disrupted for many reasons. It could be due to external factors, stress or anxiety surrounding particular life events, sickness or injury, etc.


Repeatedly missing sleep can leave us feeling desperate to find a solution. We may turn to supplements or teas and even fall victim to good marketing gimmicks. After all that money spent, we may not even have a solution! Research has shown that we can optimize sleep by optimizing the way the body functions. While that sounds like a big task, it’s achievable with chiropractic care.


Chiropractic care can optimize the way the nervous system functions. This means overall healing and improved bodily function, but specifically, it can improve movement and fluid flow between the cranium and spine. This fluid flow is essential because proper flow is essential for REM sleep. Sometimes we need to allow our bodies the freedom to function to see the results we want!
